Weekend

Hi Ya'll!

Well, this was 'our' weekend. Rick & Tom took Sandra and I out for our birthdays. Her birthday is on Oct 30th and mine is Nov 4th. We started going out for our birthday several years ago, when we both discovered that we don't like embarrassing displays of public celebration (the wait staff coming to the table to sing "Happy Birthday" is one of them) and knew that neither of us would pull that on the other nor would the husbands :) We ended up at Maggiano's and had some great Italian food. The portions were so large that we took some home and had it for lunch on Sunday. I had the veal & mushroom ravioli and Rick had the Garlic Shrimp and pasta....his bowl was large enough to feed an entire family. For an appetizer we split the Stuffed Mushrooms (see a theme here in MY meal!). We went for a walk, spent a little money (bought myself a new outfit at Coldwater Creek for less than $35 and if you know that store, I got a bargain!) and then stopped at The Creamery for ice cream as dessert. Well, Tom & Sandra did, Rick & I were still 'stuffed' from supper.

To be fair about all this, we take the guys out in the spring for their birthday....Tom's is in May and Rick's is in June and on their night out they get to pick the restaurant. So the adults get 2 nights out a year at least :)

Sunday, we went to church and for the evening service it was family night. Sandra, Katie, Tommy, Tanner and Shelbie played "Jesus Loves Me" on the piano (duet w/Katie & Shelbie), flute - Sandra, clarinet - Tanner, and trumpet - Tommy.....Mo and Matt wish you could have been here to see that.....it was great. James G. sang a solo and was gripping the podium so he wouldn't fall down...he said his knees were knocking , his legs shaking and his knuckles were turning white from stage fright....but he sang his solo and didn't sound nervous. The talent in our little church is amazing!! And we get to enjoy it every Sunday, what a great way to start a week!

See ya'll later....have a "Hoppy Week!"
